Metung  is without doubt one of Victoria's best kept secrets.

Located between better known neighbours Lakes Entrance and Paynesville on the Gippsland Lakes system, Metung is a picturesque little village that sits on a strip of land between Bancroft Bay and Lake King. 

Metungs attractions include boat ramps at Shaving Point, a local golf course, lawn bowls club, the Metung Yacht club, and RSL club.You can park your boat right at the Metung Hotel beer garden or the public jetty next door and enjoy a cold drink and a meal at the pub or one of our excellent licensed restaurants.

A medical centre is located next to the Golf Club and there is a bus service to Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance.

By road Metung is about 15 minutes to Lakes Entrance and 25 mins to Bairnsdale.

Melbourne is around 3 1/2 hours by road and is a very easy drive, and thats part of the attraction of Metung.

Its close enough to be handy but far enough away to keep the day crowds away, just look at places on the Mornington Peninsula and how crowded they have become!
